The Frightening Conditions for Political Prisoners in Iran (Part I)
The focus of this communique will be targeted towards political prisoners and the repressive measures of the regime. The bloodthirsty regime in Iran has subjected political prisoners to physical and psychological torture.
The physical torture methods are listed as follow:
1) Flogging upon the prisoner's back, waistline, hands and feet until badly bruised.
2) Handcuffing and suspending the prisoner in air, hanging from the ceiling, until an intense pain is felt as if the wrist is to be disjoint from the hand.
3) Whipping the prisoner with steelyard chains, while taunting the prisoner as means of psychological torture.
4) Literally breaking the prisoner's hands, teeth and ribs.
5) Savage beatings with a wooden branch.
6) Striking the prisoner with continuous electric shocks.
7) Kicking and fisting the prisoner on the head, facial and waist area to a bloody pulp.
8) Locking the prisoner's feet to a painful steel rod.
9) Beatings and taunting in an incarceration cell.
10) Forceful insertion of dangerous narcotics and tranquilizers into the prisoner's body.
11) Serving contaminated and poisonous food to the prisoner; serving only three cups of water per day, resulting in a shortage of blood pressure and fainting.
Some political prisoners, in attempt to free themselves from the cruel and inhuman physical and psychological torture, have committed suicide and died.
The psychological torture methods are listed as follow:
1) The prisoner is held in a diminutive incarceration cell for a long period of time undergoing tremendous hardships (from six months to one year).
2) The prisoner's feet are locked up in a diminutive incarceration cell.
3) The prisoner is held with a cellmate in an incarceration cell while prohibited to speak to the cellmate for months.
4) Women and daughters raped in an isolated cell.
5) Etc...
