The Frightening Conditions for Political Prisoners in Iran (Final Part)

(Continuation from Part VIII)

34) Reza Ameli, member of the central Mahdaviat group, has been sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. His original sentence was death, and for months he has been held in solitary confinement.

35) Mohammad Bagher Erfati, whom after 1-year imprisonment, has been freed. Islamic agents killed his brother.

36) Ali Afshari, sentenced to 2-years imprisonment, has undergone 10 months in solitary confinement. He has been subjected to psychological torture in the regime’s effort to make him surrender to forced confession, made on public television.

37) Ali Akbar Behdarvand, has undergone long imprisonment in Ahwaz prison. His original sentence was death, and has undergone severe physical and psychological torture. He is in fatal conditions as a result of the torture.

38) Gholamreza Mirzakhani (Koroush), sentenced to 15 months imprisonment and a 50 million toman (63,132 US Dollars) fine. Until his fine was paid, he was to remain captive in prison. All of his assets and belonging were taken away.

39) Hassan Khavari was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment in Evin prison.

40) Mehdi Farahi Shandiz, for three months has been under fatal conditions.

41) Reza Mehregan, also known as Shahram Rahnama, was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and one and a half year suspension.

42) Ahmad Farsi, after two long years of imprisonment, was freed from Evin prison.

43) Yahya Naseri was sentenced to 1-year imprisonment in Evin.

44) Rahim Ramzani was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment in which 1 month was served in solitary confinement cell 240. He has recently been set freed. From the known prisoners, Hesmat Tabarzadi, Manoochehr Mohammadi, Akbar Mohammadi, Mehdi Sanjaribaf, Omid Abbasgholinejad, Saeed Kamaliha, Mehdi Farahi Shandiz and Dr. Farzad Hamidi are member of the Iran Democratic Front led by Heshmat Tabarzadi.

In addition, Saeed Shahgholeyi, Sadegh Sistani, Mansour Kongdare, Saeed Masouri, Gholamhossein Kalabi, Rouh.. Kabiri, Mohammad Mehrabanpour, Mohammad Veisi, Fazel Sabet, Mohammad Mahmoudnia, Afshin Bayemani, Fariborz Mahmoudi, Alireza Shariat Panahi, Mehdi Fardkohan, Hashem Shahinnia, Hassan Khavari, Abbas Nedayi, Mohammad Nedayi, Saeed Hadayati, Mohammad Bagher Erfati, Ahmad Farsi, Yahya Nasseri and Vali.. Feiz Mahdavi are from the Guerilla Mojahedin. Furthermore, Gholamreza Mirzakhani (Koroush), Reza Mehregan (Shahram Rahnama) and Rahim Ramzani are from constitutionalist parties.

The hearing for these individuals and all other political prisoners were carried out behind closed doors, without a lawyer of the defendant’s choice and without the presence of a lawful jury, all of which are violations to human rights. Iran Democratic Front and the National Union stand as a faction of those victims, all demanding for the freedom of thought and expression, all of which are human rights.

The National Union of Iranian Students and Graduates speaks out and demonstrates in defense of human rights for the Iranian people, and mobilizes in a never-ending pursue to real freedom and democracy.
