The Frightening Conditions for Political Prisoners in Iran (Part VI)

4) Saeed Shah Ghaleyi, sentenced to death: he has undergone one year of being chained by foot, and has undergone two years of captivity in public prison 209. About three months prior, his personal properties were delivered over to his family and afterwards he was transferred to Ahwaz prison. There is a 99% chance that he was executed in Ahwaz.

5) Feiz Mahdavi, sentenced to death: he has undergone one year captivity in an incarceration cell. About three months prior, he was transferred to Rajayi prison, and most likely there his execution was carried out.

6) Heshmat Tabarzadi, leader of the Iran Democratic Front: in the (Iranian) year 81, he has undergone six months captivity in cell 325. In the year 80, he had undergone nine months of captivity in cell 59 of the sentry army, and in the year 78, he had undergone three months of captivity in cell 209. In seven months duration, he has been imprisoned with fatal conditions (without an official sentence), and as of February 23, 2003, he has been transferred to cell 325. He has shown bravery on his part by not surrendering to false confessions.

7) Manoochehr Mohammadi, leader of the National Union of Iranian Students and Graduates: he has been sentenced to 13 years imprisonment. He has been subjected to a variety of physical and psychological torture. Mounting torture has resulted in torn gums and severe infections, which is in desperate need of surgery however still in need of permission.

8) Saeed Kamaliha, sentenced to 6 years imprisonment: 3 years has passed since his sentence. He has undergone 10 months captivity in cell 59. There is a possibility of heavier sentence.

9) Akbar Mohammadi, brother of Manoochehr Mohammadi and student activist: he has been sentenced because of his presence during the July ’99 student demonstrations, and managed for fortunately escape the death sentence. His death sentence was later changed to 15 years imprisonment. He has undergone physical torture, however refuses to surrender to false confessions.

10) Saeed Masouri, sentenced to death: he has been held captive for more than nine months. He is captive in Evin prison, and at any moment his execution may be carried out.

11) GholamHossein Kalbi, sentenced to death: he has been held captive for more than nine months. He is captive in Evin prison, and at any moment his execution may be carried out.
